    An effort will be undertaken to verify the military service of the veterans currently regarded as "to be verified" and add them to the appropriate roster.

    Applications will be made to the US Department of Veterans' Affairs for military headstone for those veterans whose graves are currently unmarked. Twenty-five [ 25 ] applications are currently in work.

    An searchable online database will be developed.

    Permission will be sought from the Boulder Genealogical Society to include available:

    to facilitate use of this data for genealogical investigations.

    George F. Clements is documented to have 'became a member of US Forces during the Indian Disturbances and was stationed at Fort Morgan for a number of years'. [:CVGR db]

    Henry Fulton, George W. Hathaway, and Tom Horn are documented to have served in the US [ Regular ] Cavalry in the Plains Indian Wars.

    After service with Union forces in the American Civil War,
  • Henry Fulton [ 21th NY Vol CAV ]
    and
  • George W. Hathaway [ 3rd MA INF ]
    served with the US [ Regular ] Cavalry in the west.

    Tom Horn's biographies report that he served as a US Cavalry scout and participated in the surrender of the Chiricahua Apache leader Geronimo in 1886.

    Jarib L. Sanderson was conferred the honorary rank of colonel by the US Government, in 1861, for service in protecting government property. Bent's Fort was used as a stage stop by Barlow and Sanderson's Southern Overland Mail and Express. The inscription on his headstone in Columbia Cemetery reads:
