    Oscar F. A. Green was mustered out at Augusta, Me., on the 25Nov1864 at the expiration of his term of service.

    The Maine 1st Cavalry lost the greatest number killed in action of any Cavalry Regiment in the entire army: 15 Officers and 159 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded; 3 Officers and 341 Enlisted men died of disease, a total of 518.
